NL Cavia presenteert een verzameling korte films van opkomende Indonesische filmmakers, die een breed scala aan onafhankelijke stemmen uit Midden-Java en omgeving onthullen. Deze nieuwe golf van filmmakers is divers in vertelstijl en onderwerp en flirt met neorealisme, en belicht door middel van observatie van het dagelijks leven de huidige debatten in het land over religie, politiek en geslacht. Alle films zijn Engels ondertiteld.
EN Indonesian cinema is here to stay! Cavia is happy to present a
collection of short films by up and coming Indonesian filmmakers,
disclosing a wide range of independent voices from Central Java and
surroundings. Diverse in narrative style and subject matter, this new
wave of filmmakers flirt with neo-realism and expose through the
observation of daily-life, the country’s current debates on religion,
politics and gender with an imaginative and renewed filmic language.
All films have English subtitles.
